Soya Pulav
    Preparation Method
  1. Wash and soak the rice and soya separately for 10 minutes. Strain each and set aside.
  2. In a pressure pan, heat ghee and add the ingredients of the tempering. When they crackle and let out their aroma, reduce the flame and add the minced soya and vegetables. Sauté for 1-2 minutes before adding the rice.
  3. Stir for 2-3 minutes, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, lemon juice, salt and 2 cups warm water. Pressure cook for just 1 whistle.
  4. Allow steam to settle down completely, gently fluff the rice with a fork and serve fresh.

    Instead of soak soya can we use soya sauce..?? Reply soon

    my pressure cooker is not very reliable....but this looks an interesting recipe. Will it work if cooking in a normal saucepan? Any tips?

~ INGREDIENTS ~
  1. 1 heaped cup basmati rice
  2. 1/2 cup soya chunks (minced)
  3. 5-6 french beans (sliced diagonally)
  4. 1/4 cup shelled green peas
  5. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  7. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  8. salt to taste
  9. For the tempering
  10. 1 tablespoon ghee
  11. 1 bay leaf
  12. 2 inch cinnamon stick
  13. 2 cloves
  14. 1-2 cardamom
  15. 5-6 peppercorns
  16. 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
